$TSMC ’s so-called “global expansion” is mostly political theater. Sure, they’re building fabs worldwide, but the cutting-edge manufacturing will still be dominated by Taiwan.
The West may feel reassured by having factories on their soil, but without true supply chain independence, they’re just paying for illusions of security. Tariffs and sanctions will keep hitting unless they face the reality that they’re still tied to Taiwan’s dominance
